Everybody is making some really good points. I can't decide how I feel about that idea. The idea of Davis and Hughes is awesome *slobber, drool-oops where's my towel?* But I would hate to see Kurt suffer through a crappy series. With the popularity of Evolution, there could be a serious chance of him appearing in the next movie. It is also possible that's why he's getting a mini after 15 years is that he may be in the next movie. He could, maybe, experience a popularity surge in the near future that could kill his character. I don't know. I think with the proper creative team and the resolution of this priest thing he could carry his own book. He's a strong enough character. But I'm almsot afraid to see Marvel try, considering their recent track record.
I just dunno.

WoW, looks like I'm the only one that wants to see Nightcrawler in a (Well done) on going series! http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif
You've all made some awesome points as to why it's best for Kurt to only appear in the team book. True, oversaturation is a quick way for everyone to get bored with a character.
I guess for me it's just always wanting to see MORE of my favorite character every month. As much as I missed him being an X-man at the time, I was crazy about Excalibur because Nightcrawler had such a prominent role in the title. Some might even say that Excalibur eventually grew to become Kurt's book because he spent SO much time being the focal point of the stories.
Sadly, it seems like that's not the case whenever he's back with the 'star-laden' premiere mutant team, The X-MEN. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/frown.gif
Given the X-universes' notoriety for letting plot-threads dangle for YEARS I feel like it'll be forever before they even begin to address some of the issues involving Kurt. ( The question of who his father is/was, if Mystique's account of his origin is indeed true, his connection to Astra etc.)
With a well done ongoing they'd have to address these things, as well as start tapping into the characters vast potential. (Glimpses of which we saw while Alan Davis was on EXCALIBUR.)
Oops! Didnt mean to type an entire 'Novel' like that! I guess i'm just being greedy ... hopefully whoever gets to write him in the X-MEN is at least a little bit of a Nightcrawler fan. That way he wont leave us Elf-addicts feeling shortchanged every month!
BAMF!

Im worried.Wizard didnt mention Nightcrawler along with the other minis rescently in one of they're articles.I really hope it was a typo and they didnt decide to scrap the idea.If anyone deserves a mini its Kurt. For crying out loud Cyclops just had one and so did Rogue and they both will belong to a monthly title to boot.Ahh,perhaps Im worrying over nothing.
